Roughly 32 parkgoers' pursuit of thrill and excitement came to a (literal) screeching halt on Thursday after the Jurassic Park-themed attraction’s emergency brake was enacted, leaving their ride vehicle stuck upside down just after the coaster’s peak.
“These are things that can happen, so we followed our safety procedure and our staff guided the passengers to a safe place,” a representative for Universal said of the recent mishap.

Though it’s unclear how long the riders were stuck on the ride, they were all safely evacuated, exiting the ride through an adjacent staircase. The ride has since remained closed for inspection, per CNN.
As park personnel investigate what, exactly, caused the terrifying SNAFU, one thing is certain — that is gonna be one hell of a payout.
